Where swirl marks come from
Most swirls come from washing: automatic tunnel washes with brushes, gritty sponges and dry towels drag dirt across the paint. Each wash adds a few more fine scratches until the finish looks dull and hazy in direct sunlight.
Polishing removes a thin layer of clear coat to level those scratches. In Allen, Landon's Platinum Polishing Package (1-step) removes 50 to 75% of swirls and scratches. For a full reset with long-term protection, the Ceramic Coating Package includes correction before the coating.

Look at your paint under direct sun or a flashlight. Circular scratches around the light are swirls.
Skip the brush wash
After correction, gentle hand washing keeps the finish from swirling again. A coating makes that much easier.
Darker paint shows more
Black, dark blue and dark gray reveal swirls the most and benefit the most from correction.

Can all swirl marks be removed?
A 1-step polish removes roughly 50 to 75%. A 2-step correction is available by request. Scratches through the clear coat cannot be polished out.
